A little piece of Kallista’s history turned 100 years old and the community came together to celebrate the milestone.
The Kallista Mechanics’ Institute held the Kallista Hall Centenary in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
The centenary event included a historical re-enactment of the Kallista community in the early 1900s.
Event organiser John Lloyd said the hall was past full capacity. “There was just so many people it was unbelievable the support we had,” he said.
“The people that played various parts in the hall and community in the re-enactment were done really well.”
“We’ve just had so much support for the event and we’re so thankful for those who have donated to the hall and to those who supported the centenary.”
A plaque celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Kallista Mechanics’ Institute will be erected in the coming months.
